Valldemossa is a wonderful place, located in the heart of the Sierra de Tramuntana, very different from the typical coastal towns. Located just 20 minutes from Palma and 435 meters above sea level, it is a very quiet town, where you can take a relaxing walk through the pedestrian cobbled streets and discover the rich cultural heritage.
Valldemossa is famous for its captivating atmosphere, which has attracted many celebrities. Frédéric Chopin, for example, spent 3 months in Valldemossa with his partner George Sand. The pianist composed his Preludes here, and George Sand wrote ‘Un hiver a Majorque’ (A winter in Mallorca).
In Valldemossa there is the the Real Cartuja, an old monastery where Chopin and George Sand lived during the winter of 1838-1839.
The majestic building dominates the village and is surrounded by cobbled streets, shops, boutiques and all kinds of cafes, bars and restaurants.
Near the Real Cartuja and our store there is a fantastic viewpoint, Mirador de Miranda des Lledoner. From here you can appreciate the incredible view of Valldemossa, the valley and, in the distance, the city of Palma.
